Workshop Schedule on UN SDGs

The Role of Faith-based Organizations in Promoting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)  

Bangladesh Institute of Islamic thought (BIIT), Asian Resource Foundation (ARF) and Asian Muslim Action Network (AMAN)-এর যৌথ উদ্যোগে ১৫/০৪/২০১৭ তারিখ উত্তরা  BIIT-এর কনফারেন্স হলে Role of Faith-based Organizations in Promoting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) শীর্ষক দিনব্যাপী (সকাল ৯-০০টা থেকে বিকেল ৪-৪৫ পর্যন্ত) এক ওয়ার্কশপ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। ওয়ার্কশপে সভাপতিত্ব করেন BIIT-এর সম্মানিত প্রেসিডেন্ট ও সরকারের সাবেক সচিব জনাব শাহ আব্দুল হান্নান। ঘড়ির কাঁটা ৯-০০টা বাজার সাথে কুরআন তেলাওয়াতের মাধ্যমে ওয়ার্কশপের কার্যক্রম শুরু হয়। এরপর পরিচিতি অনুষ্ঠানের পরে স্বাগত বক্তব্য রাখেন  BIIT-এর নির্বাহী পরিচালক জনাব এম. আব্দুল আজিজ।

UNDP-এর National Project Coordinator জনাব এম. আসাদুজ্জামান Introduction to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), থাইল্যান্ডভিত্তিক Asian Muslim Action Network (AMAN)-এর সেক্রেটারী জেনারেল জনাব এম আব্দুস সবুর Faith-based networking platform for the Promotion of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) বিষয়ে প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করেন। প্রথম সেশনে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে বক্তব্য রাখেন গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকারের যুগ্ম সচিব এবং এনজিও ব্যুরোর পরিচালক জনাব গোকুল কৃষ্ণ ঘোষ। 

চা বিরতির পর প্রথম সেশনে (UN SDGs from Faiths Perspective) শিরোনামে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রফেসর ড. কাজী নুরুল ইসলামের সভাপতিত্বে প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করেন চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রফেসর ড. একিউএম আব্দুল কাদের (The Role of Islam in Promoting SDGs), ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রফেসর ড. দুলাল কান্তি ভৌমিক (The Role of Hinduism in Promoting SDGs), ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রফেসর ড. সুকুমাল বড়ুয়া (The Role of Buddhism in Promoting SDGs), ঢাকা এজে চার্চ-এর বিশপ সৌরভ ফলিয়া (The Role of Christianity in Promoting SDGs) এবং কুষ্টিয়া সরকারি কলেজের উপাধ্যক্ষ (অব) প্রফেসর তোহুর আহমদ হিলালী (The Role of Religion in Promoting SDGs). 

দ্বিতীয় সেশনে  (UN SDGs from Peace, Justice & Human Rights Perspective) শিরোনামে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রফেসর ড. মাইমুল আহসান খানের সভাপতিত্বে প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করেন Human Rights Lawyers Society Bangladesh-এর সেক্রেটারি জেনারেল এড. মুহাম্মদ শামসুদ্দিন, বাংলাদেশ সুপ্রিম কোর্টের এড. দিলরুবা শরমিন এবং ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ড. নাজমুস সা’দাত।

তৃতীয় সেশনে (UN SDGs from Gender Perspective) শিরোনামে BIIT-এর সম্মানিত চেয়ারম্যান জনাব শাহ আব্দুল হান্নান-এর সভাপতিত্বে প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রফেসর এম. রশীদ চৌধুরী, ডেপুটি সেক্রেটারি ড. আবুল হোসেন ও মিসেস তাজিমা হোসেন মজুমদার (The Hunger Project Bangladesh)| 

চতুর্থ সেশনে (UN SDGs from Country Perspective) শিরোনামে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রফেসর ড. আনিসুজ্জামান-এর সভাপতিত্বে প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করেন ডেপুটি সেক্রেটারি ড. মিজানুর রহমান (GO’s Policy vs NGO’s Activity in Bangladesh) এবং ব্রাদার ইশাক মিঞা ও ব্রাদার মহিউদ্দিন (ARF & AMAN) (Asian CSO’s Capacity Building Initiative towards SDG in Bangkok)| 

সমাপনী সেশনে BIIT-এর সম্মানিত নির্বাহী পরিচালক জনাব এম আব্দুল আজিজের সভাপতিত্বে অন্যান্যদের মধ্যে চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ড. এনায়েত উল্লাহ পাটোয়ারী ও কুষ্টিয়া ইসলামী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ড. রুহুল আমিন নৈতিক ও মানসম্মত শিক্ষার ওপর গুরুত্বারোপ করেন। ভারত থেকে আগত দু’জন ও নেপাল থেকে আগত একজন মহিলা উন্নয়নকর্মী চমৎকার আয়োজনের জন্য BIIT, ARF & AMAN কর্তপক্ষকে ধন্যবাদ ও কৃতজ্ঞতা জ্ঞাপন করেন। BIIT-এর সম্মানিত চেয়ারম্যান জনাব শাহ আব্দুল হান্নান আলোচক, সমন্বয়ক ও বিদেশী মেহমানদের মাঝে উপঢৌকন প্রদান করেন এবং সবাইকে ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপনের মাধ্যমে দিনব্যাপী ওয়ার্কশপের সমাপ্তি ঘোষণা করেন।১৬/০৪/২০১৭

• Goal 1. End poverty in all its forms everywhere
• Goal 2. End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture
• Goal 3. Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
• Goal 4. Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all
• Goal 5. Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls
• Goal 6. Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all
• Goal 7. Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
• Goal 8. Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all
• Goal 9. Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation
• Goal 10. Reduce inequality within and among countries
• Goal 11. Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable
• Goal 12. Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
• Goal 13. Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts*
• Goal 14. Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development
• Goal 15. Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss
• Goal 16. Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels
• Goal 17. Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development
